4K UHD video looks amazing, and it is the next generation of HD. However,
it does come with some drawbacks, namely: render time, system resources
and view-ability. If you don’t have a specific need for 4K, for now, you’ll
probably be happier sticking to 1080p.
PAL Video and Additional Formats
When using the Video for Web, Devices and Computers presets, you’ll
also find a tab for Additional Video File Formats. Here you’ll find preset
options for AVI, Windows Media, Quicktime as well as Intermediate/Lossless
formats.
Chances are, you’ll most likely never touch these options. However, the
MPEG-4 (PAL Frame Rates) presets may be useful for hardware
compatibility, and may be a better choice (vs Standard MPEG-4) if you’re
using significant amounts of PAL-formatted video within a slideshow.
Hardware Acceleration
Some newer computers and graphics cards feature dedicated hardware for
H.264 video encoding. When available, ProShow will allow you to take
advantage of hardware Acceleration during the rendering process, which
can increase rendering speeds by as much as 2x. You’ll find the option to
enable Acceleration when creating output for Video for Web, Devices,
and Computers as well as for YouTube and Vimeo

ProShow will automatically detect when Acceleration may be employed on
your computer, and will offer a choice of NVidia or Intel encoding options.
NVidia graphics cards will have a better overall benefit in both speed and
quality, though Intel systems with slower CPU clock speeds or fewer CPU
cores may also benefit greatly from hardware acceleration.
