392 13. Slide Styles

        Styles and Slide Timing

When you apply a Slide Style, ProShow doesn’t change your Slide Time or
Transition Time. Instead, your slide will simply use the currently set slide
and transition durations. Some effects will look great using just about any
settings, but you may find that others move too slowly, or two quickly.

To help you make your shows look their best, many styles will feature
Suggested Times. You’ll find these listed beneath the name of the style in
the Slide Style List, as well as in the Selected Slide Style pane.

Suggested times are based on the timing that was used when the style was
created. Generally, these times represent the way the effect was “meant to
be seen” by the style’s designer.

        You can apply the suggested times manually, or have ProShow do it for you;
simply click the Apply Timing button, located at the very bottom of the
        Selected Slide Style pane.

Not all styles will have suggested times, but you can have ProShow
automatically prompt you when you select a style that does. You’ll find
this option in ProShow’s Preferences, which you can learn more about in
        Chapter 27.

Note: Applying Timing is a separate process from applying a style. You can
choose either or both, but typically your Slide Style workflow should be:

            • Choose a Style
            • Apply Style
            • Apply Timing
            • Click OK to save your changes
