             AVCHD
By itself, AVCHD is not actually a disc format. (For example, there aren’t any
AVCHD players available at your local big box store.) Instead, it’s a type of
HD video that is compatible with standard DVDs. With AVCHD, you can
output a show that features Blu-ray quality, using a normal DVD. Those
discs can then be viewed on a wide variety of Blu-ray players, as well as
game consoles that support Blu-ray disc playback . Here are some reasons
             to consider AVCHD:
                • High definition slideshows, up to 6x better than DVD
                • Uses standard DVD discs and disc burners
                • Wildly supported format; compatible with most Blu-ray
                    compatible devices

Depending on your disc needs, AVCHD may be a ‘best of both worlds’
             hybrid between DVD and Blu-ray.

             Video CD
The Video CD was a precursor format to the DVD. Digital video enthusiasts
frequently used video CD before DVD burners became common, because it
uses the same discs used for music CDs.

The Video CD format suffers from severe limitations in quality and storage
space, making it unsuitable for most purposes. Today, we recommend
against using Video CD unless you have a specific need to use it. ProShow
was one of the few authoring tools for Video CD slide shows prior to the rise
of DVD, and Video CD support remains in the current release as a legacy
format for those who need it.
