❝From a member of our ProShow Producer group. I installed Gold once alongside the existing PSP9. Then it happened that Gold took over the PSP 9 on the machine. They couldn't fit next to each other on the same computer. For example, the keyframe options and many other menu items have disappeared in the PSP9. Gold is inferior compared to PSP9. I could hardly restore PSP9 after that when I deleted Gold. All registry files had to be cleaned in the roots as well. It was a lot of work before everything was restored. So I have Gold on another computer. I hope someone will be able to use this information.
❝A question from a member of our ProShow Producer group asking how to have an image slowly fading into view on a background of moving clouds. This is what I do, but as always there's more than one way to do a task. I find this easy because I can just create multiple keyframes at the same distance apart then apply an opacity setting which starts at 0 on keyframe 1 then progresses up to the final keyframe showing the image at full 100% opacity.

❝One of our ProShow Producer group members had an issue with gritty preview quality mentioned this: ❝I may have stumbled on a fix for the gritty preview quality when GPU acceleration is disabled in order to get the show to run at the proper speed. In the Preferences there is a 'Software Fallback Resolution' setting for when GPU acceleration is not in use. I changed this from 800 x 600 to 1920 x 1080 and the preview is nice and sharp again.❞

❝One of our members asked this question: ❝I have a new problem with Producer. If I burn a show to a Blu-ray it does not load and run on my Blu-ray player. If I burn the same show using Gold it plays fine on my Blu-ray player. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?❞
A kind member replied: ❝Can you save it as an iso file and then try burning using ImgBurn?❞
The result: ❝Yep! That works perfect. Now I can abandon Gold and sail off into the sunset with Producer. Thanks again - problem solved.❞
❝A question which came via the website: ❝Hello, I'm trying to recover my Proshow Producer. It won't open on my computer. I attempted to transfer .psh shows to Photopia and was excited it worked until I realized the audio wouldn't transfer and I would be limited to song selections. I'm looking for best option to get Producer open again. I assume ProShow Producer 9 is my only option at this point?❞
My reply: ❝Yes❞
❝One of our members was having issues with playing her videos within Proshow Producer which were 4k 300Mbit videos.
Another kind member had a look at the situation and advised downsizing the 4k clips to better optimise the size and quality. Our member pointed out he was familiar with VidCoder (open source) and gave her the suggested encoding options within the application.
That took the 157MB 4k clip (4 seconds long) down to a 5MB file size, then she used the 5MB in ProShow Producer and was able to finish the video in the show without issue.
❝Sometimes a show being created can start having problems. Sometimes the ❝cache❞ of the show gets corrupted. You can delete it and let the program rebuild it when you load the show again.
To delete the ❝cache❞ of a show, delete the file that has the name of your show and the extension .pxc. This file is found in the folder where you saved your show, it is the largest of all the files. Close the program and delete this file in Windows Explorer (File Manager). Reopen your show, wait until the show is fully loaded at which time ProShow will create a ❝new cache❞ file.
